All You Need to Know About Jake Sandvig, a Nurse and a Former Actor

Early Life and Education

Jake Sandvig was born on September 8, 1986, in Clovis, California, to Michelle Sandvig, an American costume designer. Jake is not the only child, he has three younger sisters named Macy, Madison, and Mallory Sandvig. When Jake Sandvig was young, his family relocated to Portland, Oregon, where he grew up. He was just a normal kid, but he had to step up, given that he was a firstborn.

Upon coming of age, Jake Sandvig was enrolled in a local elementary school. He was a good student, and while in middle school, a teacher encouraged him to pursue an acting career due to his good looks. He acted as he was studying. He then proceeded to high school; however, at this stage, his acting career was blossoming. As such, after graduating from high school, he did not immediately proceed to college.

Jake later graduated in June 2022 with an associate degree in nursing. A year later, he graduated from California State University, Northbridge, with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Acting Career

Jake Sandvig began his acting career in 1999 after one of his teachers told him to try local projects. He did several commercials before his family moved to Hollywood. After his family relocated to Hollywood, Jake began landing a few roles. One of his earliest features was in 1999 when he appeared in The Story of Us, playing Josh Jordan.

The following year, Jake made a guest appearance in The Amanda Show– he appeared in two episodes. In the early 2000s, Jake kept making guest appearances, but his breakthrough came in 2004 when he landed the role of Preston Shackleton on Cracking Up. He appeared in 12 episodes. The role catapulted Jake Sandvig to stardom. It opened doors for more acting opportunities.

In 2006, Jake Sandvig landed a lead role in the American sitcom Twenty Good Years. He portrayed Hugh Pyne. Jake’s other credits include Weeds, An Evergreen Christmas, Rush, High Moon, CSI: NY, Ruby & the Rockits, Reaper, and Veronica Mars.

Jake Sandvig’s last acting role came in 2016 in the movie Hometown Hero. Since then he has retired and has been focusing on his family and other interests.

Life Post-Acting

Jake Sandvig had always been interested in nursing. After quitting acting, he enrolled for a nursing degree graduating in 2023. He has been working as a neuro nurse for about 2 years now. He is passionate about nursing and wants to put a smile on every patient he cares for.

Jake is a married man. He is married to Alexa Mey, a customer and they have one child together. Jake often posts pictures of his son on his social media platforms, especially Instagram.
