Meet Jarell Damonte Houston, an American Musician who Began Singing at the Age of 2

Jarell Damonte Houston is an American music artist and actor who has been in the entertainment industry for over two decades. Jarell was passionate about music from a young age and vowed to pursue it. Jarell is related to Marques Houston- they are first cousins. Marques began his music career in the early 1990s. It is likely that Jarell was looking up to his older cousin and wanted to succeed in the music industry as well.

Early Life and Education

Jarell Damonte Houston was born on August 11, 1985, in Compton, California. He had a pretty normal childhood but he began showing his interest in music and arts from a young age. According to his parents and other family members, Jarell began singing, rapping, and dancing when he was 2. He went on to fall in love with music, and he has been doing it ever since.

Regarding his education, Jarell Damonte Houston began his education in a local school in Compton. His parents were not financially well-off, but they had enough. As such, Jarell attended a local public school. Upon his graduation from elementary school, he proceeded to high school. It is unclear if the musical artist completed his education, given that he had already ventured into professional music. He had to spend a lot of time in the studio and still attend school. It is hard to keep a balance between the two. Hopefully, Jarell managed to balance the two.

Professional Life

Jarell Damonte Houston ventured into the music industry in the late 1990s. At the time, Jarell was just 14 years but he was ready to surprise the music industry. He joined B2K; the band had the likes of Omarion, Lil Fizz, and Raz-B. Jarell and his band enjoyed a lot of success in the early 2000s, but they had to separate after a few years together. People like Omarion decided to pursue music as solo artists and managed to achieve national and international success.

After B2K was disbanded, Jarell worked with various artists, including his cousin Marques Houston, Lil Fizz, and Chris Stokes. Besides music, Jarell acted in a few films and television shows, including Step Up 2: The Streets and Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood, among other films.

Personal Life

Jarell Damonte Houston is a husband and a father. He has five children, three of whom he shares with his partner, Jondelle Michelle Lee. Jarell’s partner has hit the headlines in the recent past for various reasons. For one, she mentioned that she does not like Black people, which is diabolical given that she is Black herself.

Jondelle also hit the headlines in 2010 when it was reported that she was a victim of domestic violence. Neighbors reported that they had screams coming from Jarell’s house. They alerted the police, who came and arrested Jarell for domestic violence. It is unclear how the case ended and if Jarell spent a few nights in jail. However, since then, Jarell’s behavior has not been a subject of discussion.
