Mickie’s father, Robert A. McGowan, was an American screenwriter and film director. He had a great career, but it came to an end in the late-1940s due to his association with blacklisted screenwriters.

Mickie McGowan was born on January 2, 1938, in California, United States, to Madeline Rosselle and Robert A. McGowan. She was not the only child in her family. She had a sister named Madeliene McGowan. Little is known about her, given that she stayed away from the spotlight.
